What does it cost to join Disaster Resource Alliance?

At this time, DRA does not charge a membership fee. Our work is funded by the generosity of our members and others who value our work. We also make a nominal profit from the discounted sale of emergency supplies and some fee-based services, however our goal is to make these resources available to our Alliance partners as cost-effectively as possible.

Are donations to Disaster Resource Alliance tax-deductible?

Yes! DRA is a fiscally-sponsored project of OneOC, an Orange County 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to accelerate the success of Orange County nonprofits. Your donations to OneOC, designated to Disaster Resource Alliance, make it possible for us to do what we do.

Can any organization be a part of Disaster Resource Alliance?

DRA wants to cooperate with and work alongside anyone who is committed to building the disaster resilience of Orange County. However, as a Christian organization, we recognize that not everyone will share our faith-based commitment. So we have different types of memberships available that allow us to support our faith-based convictions while still being able to serve and work with those who do not share our faith. We are firmly committed to meeting the needs of disaster victims without regard for their personal beliefs.

What is the Disaster Radio Net?

In cooperation with OperationOC, a ministry of the Orange County Rescue Mission, DRA has access to a commercial radio frequency that allows our partners to communicate with one another in the event of a telecommunications failure. Once a month, the Disaster Radio Net provides an opportunity for our partners to respond to a roll call to verify their radio equipment is working properly. It also provides them with an opportunity to become familiar and comfortable with radio operations.
